The last known Tasmanian Tiger photographed in 1933. The species is now extinct.
Also known as the Thylacine, many apparent sightings have occurred since it’s supposed extinction. Acknowledging the possibility that there may remain a handful of Thylacine still alive today would mean having to stop deforesting their habitat to protect the remnants of the species, if they even still exist that is, and that’s something the regional government is not about to do. So sad, I would have loved to see one in person.
